I need a new monitor as my 22" monitor has had its day and wont turn off properly so im using my old 37" tv but it has also had its day as it tends to display weird graphics and flashes various colours on the screen every so often.

Note the Tv did this before i connected it to my pc hence why i changed it for a 47" led LG TV earlier this year.

Now i have approx £200 to spend and cant decide wether or not to go for a 24" monitor or a 27" monitor.

My min spec is it must do 1980 x 1050 and have a DVI connection

HDMI connection would be a bonus as i could also connect my 360 to it so if it has this connection a pair of inbuilt speakers would also help

37" of screen realty is great in theory but in practice is terrable at displaying text at 1980 x 1050, and being honest its just too big when your only 2ft away from it.

Looking at the few 27" monitors i can afford i would suggest they are TN Panels and from what ive read they are not always the best to go for.

Hah.. I'm in the same boat at the moment. I use some 27" screens at work and they really are huge.. but too huge? Not sure.

If I was getting a 27" it would probably be this one at the moment: Iiyama E2773HDS

An for 24" this one is getting recommendations in other threads: Samsung SyncMaster S24A350H

i meant the 37" tv im currently using as a monitor is too huge

as for the Iiyama monitor you linked too i have been looking at that

Ive bought the Iiyama E2773HDS after the TV went and had another fritz attack
Cant be doing with the screen mucking up and taking nearly 10 mins to get back to working condition.
So roll on thursday when it arrives

Well so far had the monitor now for just over 24 hours.
And i can say its a lot better a displaying text etc than the 37" TV i was using.
Ive still got a bit of tinkering to do with the brightness, contrast and colours yet but so far im very happy with the results im getting.
