I am completely out of touch withn monitors and am looking for some advice.

I currently have a b-grade Samsung S27A750D (can't recall the model exactly, the 27" 3D 120Hz one!) coupled with a Radeon 7950.

My missus has started getting into photography and photo-editing and I have read IPS panels are the best for this (correct me if I'm wrong!). The machine however, will always be a gaming machine!

So, I am wondering what to go for - will be playing games such as BF4, GW2, TESO, that sort of thing. Wlould like 1440p and am looking at changing my graphics card to start heading that way (don't think I can crossfire or SLI newer cards as I only havde a 750W PSU).

Have read about both the Dell U2713H and Asus PB278Q (both good points and horror stories) and am wondering would they both still fit the bill or is there an alternative? Reckon budget is about £400-ish.

Thanks in advance!

I've not used the dell but love my Asus PB278Q (a lot better than my 720p tv I can tell you lol), now back the the question - I did a quick google and found some articles - http://blog.xritephoto.com/2013/07/choose-the-right-monitor-for-photo-editing/ - thats one of them, I dont personally use and photo-editing software etc but I remember when doing some reading up on different panels on the benefits such as colour reproduction etc - hopefully someone who has abit more knowledge on perhaps a professional use case can weigh in.

As for your second statement - I'm almost certain you'll be absolutely fine running a crossfire setup on a 750watt psu - I'm running 7950's (both overclocked) aswell as an overclocked i7 on an 850 watt psu - and I've still got some over head - so I wouldnt disregard buying a second 7950 to drop in your sytem - hope this can be of some help :)
