Hey guys im after a new monitor, Mainly for console gaming but will use it as a second monitor for my PC to. At the moment i use my benq 120hz monitor for pc and console gaming.

So im wondering whats the best to get, do i get a 60hz monitor or do i get a new 144hz monitor for my main and pc gaming, then use my current 120hz monitor for console? Or do i skip all of that and get a 4k monitor for the console?

Is there even a point in anything over 60hz for console (ps4 pro/one x)?

cheers!

Console won’t do over 30/60hz at current gen. You will see no benefit there, unless you plan to play pc games on it or hold in the hopes of higher refresh on later generations.
  1. What do you want to spend?
  2. What are your specs?
  3. What technologies matter post to you?
  • Panel type
  • Resolution
  • Refresh rate
  • Variable refresh technologies
  • Aspect ratio
  • I’ve money to burn; all of the above

Probably go max £400, pc specs wise 4790k, 1070.

Ive always been on 1080p and happy with it, i feel like its best at 24" which is what i have always played on. but not really fussed just want a high performing monitor for gaming on the console whether its my current which does the job nicely or a new one.

Was looking at the 60hz benq one, console esports specific. You say the consoles wont do more than 60hz.. but my question there is does that mean my 120hz reverts to 60hz when connected to a console? or are my eyes still seeing the smoothness benefit of the 120hz? Basically dont want to buy a 60hz monitor then feel something is missing compared to my current (console wise now)
