Monitor and Wii

Hi, i have a NEC accusync 22wmgx screen and it has the port for the Wii component cables. However when i plug in the cables nothing will appear on the 2 of the 3 channels available, the other channel being HD which i use my pc on, but there is also 3 more ports on the monitor i think they are for hd cabling, green blue and red. When i plug in the yellow wii component wire into the green port i get a picture only its black and white and no sound and i cant seem to change the colour.

If i plug the red wire in to the red port when the yellow wires in the green port i get sound. anyone help me out ?

yes your right your using the wrong cables for the job. Your using the standard Composite cables which came with your wii? if so then you cant use them ( well unless it has a yellow port on the back of your monitor ) you need a set of component cables( you can buy unoffical ones for £5-10 off amazon ). They give farrrr better picture quality.

I do have a yellow port on the monitor, no scart port on it though, thxs but ill check around for them cables
