Monitor Audio Bronze 5 or Acoustic Energy 103..?

Thinking about purchasing the following for an 5.1 AV setup:

Monitor Audio Bronze 5 (Black Oak) Floorstanding Speakers
Monitor Audio Bronze Centre Speaker (Black Oak)
Monitor Audio Bronze 2 (Black Oak) Bookshelf Speakers

or

Acoustic Energy 103 Floor-standing Speakers
Acoustic Energy 101 Bookshelf Rear Speakers
Acoustic Energy 107 Centre Speaker

I like the look more of the Accoustic Energy but what are peoples thoughts on my choices?

You need to go and have a listen. Aesthetics are important to a point, but you're buying speakers for the way they sound and how well they'll work in your room.

I would get the MONITOR AUDIO BRONZE BXFX for rears if you go for that way.....I have them and are great and easy to mount.....

You really need to listen to them. I demoed the BX5s before buying them and was really impressed, plus their relatively small footprint was a major added bonus the the 'boss'.

Both will give you great sound (I'm a big fan of AE and have their speakers) but it's all about how it sounds to you. One will be a sharper, more punchy sound, the other more bassy, for example. It depends on how it sounds to you

But either will give you good quality

Would love to but there are no shops near me which have both in :/

For what it's worth I have AE Aegis Evo 3 floorstanders, Aegis Evo 1 bookshelfs and a Radiance 3 centre. I was going to upgrade the rest of my system to the radiance 3 range but I'm going travelling this year so thats gone out of the window

- either way the sound is stunning and everyone compliments it when they come around.

Ye i dont think there is going to be a huge difference between the AE and the MA's and Im not a AV enthusiast- I just want a descent setup for watching movies and TV.

I prob am going to go for the AE's...now its a case of what finish do I choose, walnut or black...

Black for me every time
It goes with the TV

I started with the bx5,(now rx6) but never could demo either. If you can't compare both will sound amazing

Walnut does look better but it would look slightly odd in my lounge. Im going to take the safe option and go black but walnut is better!
