Monitor Audio Silver 6

Hi I just bought some Monitor Audio Silver 6 (https://www.soundstageaccess.com/index.php/equipment-reviews/574-monitor-audio-silver-6-loudspeakers) to replace my wharfedale diamond 9.1 i got a good deal on them i think cost me £250 now i thinking of using the wharfdale as rear speaker in a 4.1 set up the wharfdale wont be to big as rear speakers will they ?

No why should they- some people use towers as surround & rears. I'm using large standmount as rears.

Look for one as this

When listening to music from a CD, you can use "pure direct" this'll disable room EQ, bass management- so full range is sent to mains. Don't do this when watching movies/tv shows though.

For AV use I wouldn't set lower than small 60hz, use bass management so <60hz is sent to sub

That 35Hz-35kHz response is nonsense, probably measured at -10db (the high figure of 35khz gives it away) You'd need speakers with bigger drivers, bigger cabinet to get response of 35hz. It's probably closer to 48hz.

You'd need to rerun EQ when you change speakers, ensure crossover on the sub is disabled.

dont think you can turn of the AVR crossover off just down to 40

That Yamaha has a pure direct mode. But for movies try small 60hz
yeah has pure mode. but i like straight because with straight if its a 2 channel source like music it uses the mains and if the source is 5.1 like a film then it will use all my speakers
ill just need to mess with the crossover till i like it
