Monitor Blinking On/Off

I have a issue with my new monitor blinking on and off.

All I did was plug in a old vga monitor, I connected the new monitor back up via dvi...and now I have this blinking problem.

If I use the secondary dvi port on my 6870 the blinking is much more spread out, if I use the primary dvi it basically blinks non stop.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

I have tried a reformart, thinking a fresh new system would solve the problem. It didn't.

I pressed some buttons on the monitor and it looks like its stopped! Shall update.

It was the dvi cable, swapped for another dvi cable and all good.
