Monitor bottleneck???

Hey guys, using an old 1080p monitor at 144hz until mine arrives tomorrow for my rtx 4080, fps isn't amazing at 1080p even though I know it's locked at 144 I'm getting 135 on bf2042, is the monitor doing something to stop the gpu using its power?

Didn't think that was a thing? Unless you have vsync on? I believe gsync or similar arnt capped?

What cpu are you running ?
