Right, basically woke up this morning turned machine on and it seemed fine when booting up and then the screen begin to 'flicker' and basically a whole load of crap displayed on the screen. So I thought it might be my GPU so I connect my MacBook up to it, both via DVI, and nope same problem.
I then connect my PC to another monitor via VGA, and also my HDTV, and both display fine and I can do whatever. But when I try and connect it to my 'broke' Monitor it displays the GPU details at the start and then nothing.
I thought it could be the DVI cable, but when I had it plugged in and was getting the 'messed up screen' I changed to VGA/S-Video etc but it was the also getting pretty much the same effect.
It's a Dell 2005FPW or something, had it for two years so not sure if about warranty, not even sure if I kept any of the original documentation.
So first of all, by the sounds of it the monitor is well and truly broke and buying another DVI cable will result in the same mess?
And secondly, what is a good 21-22" Widescreen monitor around £200 or thereabouts, machine is mainly used for gaming.
