I've got a SpyderX Pro coming today that I want to use on my S2721DGFA. Having never used this tool before I have some (noob) questions.

1. Before you start do you have the monitor with all settings at 100 (eg brightness/contrast)?

2. Once the calibration has finished and the profile is loaded do I have to change any settings on the monitor itself or will the profile do this?

Thanks.

No definitely don’t mess around with the Osd settings in that way. The device will not control your screen settings for you, it will make corrections at the graphics card level through creation of a profile but during the process it should guide you through getting to the best osd settings before it does that.

I’d recommend restoring osd to factory, get in to a preset mode where you have full access to RGB controls etc and then set the brightness to something comfortable. then follow the Spyder Calibration software three from there, and it should just guide you through the steps like adjusting the on-screen settings before it does the profile creation. It should be pretty self-explanatory if you follow the steps through
