The short answer is typically yes.
But in just 30mins it begs a bunch of questions. I'm no monitor expert but I have suffered from eye strain with darker TN panels. Or having to increase the brightness to see stuff better can sear the eyes. With lighter IPS panel I can reduce brightness more, without having to strain to see things. I avoid playing in the dark too and make sure gamma is realistic, even if it appears a bit dull at first till you appreciate the realism more. I'm often shocked at how unrealistic the gamma level is on some peoples screens. They often think that's just the way the monitor is. And some of the blame must go to manufacturers for that, who want to make the colours pop upon first viewing, to get you to buy.
With my current screen I'd get dizzy at 60Hz playing fast games, but overclocking to 72Hz helps just enough to prevent it.
