Hi All which of these monitors would you go for ?

Samsung SyncMaster P2450 or
Dell SP2309W 23" Widescreen LCD
:confused::confused:

The Dell is a good screen, above Full HD TN panel (2048x1152) Does 1:1 Pixel mapping if that is important to you, has a built in 2MP web cam, twin usb mic's, 4 port USB2 Hub, The options for a Soundbar if you are cramped for space or like me don't want loose speakers and wires about. Dell have it for about £175 at the moment. The stand rises/drops about 4 inches (100mm) and has a built in turntable for side to side swivel.

Some people have had buzzing issues and report uneven backlight distribution but mine has had neither of those issues.

Most modern games (I'm not into FPSs as I suffer from motion sickness) will run happily at the native res, Grid, NFS Shift and the recent Tombraider games have been tested by myself.

I'd go for a Dell 2209WA instead. Around the same price, but the e-IPS panel makes it a completely different kettle of fish compared to the above TN panels.

Here is a review for the 2209WA.

The Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA has a much lower resolution.
Its also out of stock.

I am intersting in buying a Dell SP2309W at the moment also, and would be intersted to hear what other owners think of them.

This is true, 2048 X 1152 > 1680x1050. However, this doesn't automatically mean that the SP2309 is a better screen than the 2209WA.

First of all that's a heck of a lot of resolution for a 23in monitor. I had a 24in 1920x1200 for a year and I though that was a bit too small for the res (hence my current one). I have used the 2209WA extensively, and in my opinion the pixel density is very good.

As for being out of stock, this is OCUKs 2nd most popular monitor (for good reason) so I would expect it to be back in pretty soon.

If you are interested in spending this kind of money on a monitor, I suggest having a good read of the review link I posted above.

I did, and i am also well aware of the differences in the screens, screen type, the OcUk forums reviews for that 22inch are also interesting, every single response is a 5star.

It doesn't have a HDMI port does it?

hmm true and I happen to have one of those.
Ponderign various options now, i had started a dell comparison thread myself which had not received any replied thus far, but now you've throw a completely new monitor into the equation.

Thinking cap on.
