I have currently got a Samsung 2032BW 20" monitor and want to upgrade to a 23" or 24" (if budget stretches)

At the moment i am only on 1680 x 1050 as its the native res for the 2032BW, so my requirements are:

2ms response at least
full HD 1920 x 1080P
current contrast is 3000-1 typical so something around there or above
Dvi, HDMI

Viewing angles aren't vital as i sit pretty much square on to the monitor when gaming, budget is around 150 but may be able to go a tad higher if needed.

Thanks :)

Thanks for the recommendations guys, been a change of plan, i now can afford around £220 for the monitor, so after a lot of web searching and tech reading, i am considering a 120hz monitor with ips panel if possible.

Seems the 2ms response is not vital and anything around 5-8ms is good enough for gaming, plus the ips panels seem better for colours ect..

So bearing in mind my new demands, what can you suggest or should i stick with a TN panel?

Its all very confusing, so many things to consider.

there are no 120Hz IPS panels. at this time (and the foreseeable future), the 120Hz feature is a TN panel exclusive (IPS are too slow to handle 120Hz).

Did not know that, okay then which option would be best 120hz monitor or IPS panel monitor, basically for web browsing and gaming (BF3, Skyrim, F1 2011 ect..)

Hoping to purchase within next few days, thanks :)

well, i am waiting for the Samsung S27A950D for gaming and i will be using my current DELL U2311H for surfing in pivot mode :)

That Samsung is nice, but way out of my budget, plus i only need 1 monitor and i have not mastered the art of multi-tasking yet :P

Tbh the 3D would be a bonus i could live without, main reason is for the more fluid and smoother gameplay, how long will it be before the new Nvidia vision 2 monitors arrive, should drive the prices down on these older 120hz monitors.

Have looked at the Asus but am wary of the glossy screen as my monitor will be close to a window.

Come on Overclockers time for a 3D monitor special deal for me :D
