Looking at upgrading my monitor
Samsung TN 24" 1900x1200 60hz
ATI 480 8GB
Intel i7 950
24GB RAM
If I stick with 24", it seems the current models in this size are 1080. So downgrading a bit on resolution.
If I move upto 27" there are a couple 1440p panels but I don't want to push resolution too high in games that framerate would suffer. I could use a lower resolution and let it scale, but I've found it to be pretty bad picture quality doing that.
Ultra wide looks pretty cool. The AOC is not bad, but it's a bit big and I think the resolution is too low for the size, lower PPI than my 24"
There are a few 29" ultra wides, and roughly the same PPI as my 24". But they seem to be 60hz? I would like a higher refresh monitor.
Freesync support would be desireable.
I have two computers, the second machine has a ATI 5450. I guess use gaming PC with display port, and HTPC for DVI, I'll still get native resolution and 100hz but no freesync, which is fine as just used for browsing and videos.
