Monitor comparison...

I was going to go for a Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP 24" monitor due to the reviews, but should I save myself some cash and go for the cheaper Hyundai W240D-PVA 24" instead?

I will be using the monitor for gaming and also HD movies and general TV etc.

The thing is, when I go to a 24" monitor I will be staying with it for a long time, hence why I want the best I can get.

However, if I can get one a little cheaper with no noticeable difference then that would be a bonus.

I dont want to get a cheaper one then regret it afterwards :eek:

The Dell is certainly not the best you can get, especially at the price it is, go or the Hyundai and you'll sidestep all of the problems that have plagued the Dell (the latest of which is people not knowing which revision they have).

If I had to buy a 24" LCD today I would certainly give the HP LP2475w a try. It costs more than the dell but appears to have fewer problems, has reasonable black depth and as a long term purchase has a warranty that can be extended to 5 years ( http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12487993&postcount=269 ). Of course you could spend £250 today and who knows what may be available for £250 in two years time ?

Seems to me that buying a new monitor is a bit of a minefield :eek:

I thought that the Dell was one of the best tbh.

Will keep looking, all help/advice greatly appreciated.
