Hi there
I've recently purchased an Xbox 360, and would like to connect it to my pc monitor which unfortunately doesn't have hdmi.
From googling I understand I need a dvi hdmi dongle of some sort.
Can I also get a dvi splitter so i dont have to keep unscrewing dvi leads and if they exist will they degrade image quality?
If anyone can point me in the direction of what I need that would be much appreciated.
Regards.

Hi there,

May I ask what the make and model number of your monitor is?

As for the connection to use, a simple cable like this should work fine (so long as your particular monitor is up to the job) though you won't be getting any sound out of it (since monitor don't usually have speakers and DVI doesn't carry sound). To get sound out of your XBox you will want to connect up your speakers/headset to the xbox directly.

As for using a splitter cable - splitters just don't work well with these cable so I wouldn't suggest going down that line. Instead, go for a 2 input DVI switch so you can flick between PC and Xbox inputs to the monitor.

Ah yes, nice monitor you have there.

I can't link to a DVI switch, as they are not on OCUK and on competitor sites but I would recommend googling "2 Port DVI-D Switch with Audio" and see what comes up.
