Right, sorry for probably asking the same question as everyone else.

I currently have a 23" TV as my main monitor, and have decided its time for something new and shiny.

I play Elite, Farcry, Battlefield, and all sorts of games.

GFX is handled by a pair of Crossfire 7950 - OC'ed to 7970+ speeds.

What is the best monitor out there for me. Freesync, super wide, Normal Widescreen.

Is the fact that most monitors are 1080p an issue when the screen size gets bigger ??

I do really like the new Dell 3415 super wide, but am not sure what its like to game with.

Help Please.

I guess it depends on what your looking for. From my own personal experience I had a benQ 144hz 24 inch screen for 2 years and my new one was either going to be a 4k 16:9 screen or Ultrawide 3440x1440 screen. While 144hz was great I wasn't that fussed about going back to down 60hz and freesync doesn't matter to me as I have no issue with vsync or a little screen tearing with it turned off. Its something that's never really bothered me.
I went for the LG ultrawide screen first as I just love new tech and when it comes to computer monitors I think the Ultrawide screens have much more of a wow factor than anything freesync or gsync can do.
Even compared to 4k. My friend has a 4k 16:9 screen and while it looks sharp it didn't wow me in the same way gaming in 21:9 does.
Unfortunatly my LG had bad backlight bleed and the three replacements did too so that was off my list.
Couldn't go back to 16:9 though and many others feel the same when going for these ultrawide screens.
I now have the Samsung 34 inch ultrawide and couldn't be happier. Its a amazing screen and has that wow factor that I believe only ultrawide screens can give.

I believe the dell is based on the same IPS panel as the LG so will be very similar where as the Samsung is a VA panel and has no bleed which was a huge thing for me and deeper blacks.

Hope this helped a little.
