So my DGM 27" has died :( Excuse for an upgrade/new one :D

Looking to spend around £300, which I could possibly stretch to £400 if theres a much better one for that.

Looking for 27" or bigger 1440p minimum. Currently have a 7950 but will be upgrading to a 970 soon.

So what can y'all reccomend?

Cheers

Ali

If you are going a 970, I suggest looking at G sync stuff. Am in the same boat as you although my screens are fine am looking to upgrade them.

The one thing that sucks is theres no cheap 1440p G syncs, Only the swift thats double the 300 quid in my pocket :(

But considering what people say about G sync and 144mhz, I think I'll happily stick around the 1080p range and grab the 24 inch 144mhz G syncs they have for around 300 quid.

What's it used for? Are you interested in UHD? Colour accuracy important?

There's so much choice out there right now, knowing what you are using it for would be very useful for people to make recomendations

Sorry, Use it for a bit of everything really, browing/gaming/films etc.

Potentially interested in 4k, but surely out of budget?

I would say you are 100 quid off 4K, But a 970 on a 4K, Gonna struggle a little in games :P

I ran a 295x2 on 4K and got bored of seeing a lack of 60 fps, Went back to 1080p.

There are already 4K monitors in the £350-£400 range, but they are TN panel not IPS panels however...and to drive 4K on gaming you need insane amount of GPU power. So for the middle-ground, it's probably still better to get a 2560res IPS monitor for great display and without the need to insane GPU power.

You could cosider this one from Samsung...should be better than your previous DGM:

...or if you want 4K TN panel monitor:

The Samsung might be the best bet. Not sure a single 970 will cope very well with UHD.

Shame there aren't any 30" + for under £400. Although I suppose that acer is 28". Hmmmmmm

I'd go for a 4k. If my DGM died that is what I'd upgrade to anyway and if upgrading from HD 7950 get a R9 290 to complement it.

Oh well, too late went for the acer!

The Samsung has quite high input lag so if gaming was best avoided, if it was me I'd have gotten a Asus or Iiyama.
