Afternoon.

I currently have a 22" 2016 LG 22MP68VQ-P.

My gaming laptop is the ASUS ROG STRIX II.

I recently bought an electriQ 27" monitor. It's QHD IPS 1440p 95Hz 5ms Freesync for £130.

I have been using the monitor for only couple of days but it feels too big. I have no issues with gaming or watching videos. It's only when browsing the web or using MS Office that it feels too big.

Should I return it and get a smaller 24" or 25" monitor? If yes, which brands and model should I look for ? My budget is £150.

explain what you mean by too big - because that can be interpreted a few different ways
maybe post a picture

also explain your thinking behind getting a new monitor, is there a particular problem you're having with your current one?

By "too big" so you mean everything on screen is too big? If so, you may have DPI scaling enabled, check in your display settings, you shouldnt really need it to be more than 100% at that size/resolution unless you have reslly poor eyesight or its really far away from you!

It just feels gigantic! Nothing was wrong with my current one. I just decided to treat myself as my current one is six years old.

I think what I am trying to say is that the transition seems like a huge leap and perhaps transitioning to a slightly larger screen from a 22" monitor would have helped cope with the change ?

I know what your going through. Went from a 24" 16:10 dell to a 32" 16:9 and I too thought id made a bad choice but here I am 7 yrs later ready to buy a 42" OLED!

If you have space definately consider a deeper desk to push it away from you. A few inches can make all the difference (Been watching too many HDTV test vids recently.)

It's the Argos PC desk trolley which I bought years ago.
I do use an external keyboard and mouse. They are on the keyboard tray underneath.
Consider a deeper desk, or wall mounting the monitor to get it snug with the wall. This will also let you raise the monitor up.

In terms of your browsing habits, you will learn to love "ctrl + scroll wheel" to increase font sizes. I browse OCUK from about 2 feet away on a 27" 1440p screen @ 175% in Google Chrome.

The game changer on a 27" is having OCUK open right hand side, then YouTube open left hand side. Both comfortable fit and can be browsed.
