monitor dimensions

hello

monitors specs mention diagonal, eg 24 inches, but I need to know the vertical dimension of a monitor, because I want to read pdf files in my monitor and the book page in its whole height must appear in the screen without having to scroll the vertical bar

why they don't mention this?

how can I find the proper monitor to read A4 pdfs as if they were paper? or even a bit larger?
