monitor doesnt always come on??

hi all. for some reason when i turn my pc on it doesnt turn the monitor on so i have to hold the power buton in till it goes off then i turn it on again and the monitor comes on the second time. any idea why this is happening? my set up is:

Happens to me but I found out it was the intellisocket I'm using where there is no standby anymore unless I have PC on, probably not in your case but hey.
