i have an old 24inch DGM i forget the model but it was a big seller round here back in the day. so whats happening is it seems to be not recognising there isa signal there. if the monitor turns off or the computer is, or the cable is disconected (i run it off a laptop) it has a reall time to come back to life. i can flick between inputs and it pops up that its disconnected so the panel itself seems to work fine. so far if i just leave it for a few minutes it springs to life and works.

so any ideas what up and con i fix it or should i start looking for a replacement? skint so really really dont want to have to get a new one.

I had a similar problem...

Have you checked the capacitors on the board inside the monitor? From what I understand they store energy but over time they leak. You can tell this simply by looking at them, they start to bulge and you can actually see it leak... I bought replacements on eBay and soldered them on!
