Monitor flickering

Hello everyone,

I have recently built a new PC and I'm using the same GPU, monitors & Display port cables as my previous build. When I turn my PC on 90% of the time I get some form of flickering on my main display. I'm unsure what could cause this. Sometimes if I reinstall my graphics drivers that will sort it. Sometimes I have to turn off my second display and then turn it back on to sort it. I don't really know why this happens though.

The main monitor is an MSI G274QPF E2 1440p 180Hz monitor and the second is an MSI G24C4 1080p 144 Hz monitor. I had both of these monitors on my old PC set up and never once had an issue with flickering. If I switch it too 165Hz it doesn't seem to flicker, but I used to be able to run it on 180Hz with no issue. I have checked the driver's are up to date with both monitors. It's not a massive issue to run it on 165Hz however I would prefer to be able to run it on 180Hz like I used too.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Have you tried a different cable? I’m getting an occasional issue where my main display boots fine with no issues in BIOS, the Windows Welcome screen but then instead of the desktop I get a narrow band of that welcome screen about 2/3 of the way up and the rest pure black. Rebooting seems to fix it, but I’m trying to narrow it down to either software or cables before panicking that something expensive has gone **** up.
