Monitor flicking off and on, problem when using IE

Hey guys (long time no post)

I'm currently experiencing a problem, which i experienced a little while back with my old rig. It had no explanation or solution back then either.

I'll be happily browsing the 'net when my monitor goes blank for a second and then returns. This occurs to be happening randomly, and the computer carries on fine while the monitor is off (the mouse position moves, etc.)

It can happen every half a second for a few seconds, or every couple of minutes. It's just completely random.

I know it's probably got nothing to do with my rig because i've changed it since and the problem has started again.

The only thing i can think of is that maybe it's some sort of trojan (although scans say all is clear) or a bug in IE.

Any ideas?

get firefox from mozilla.org, problem solved if its to do with ie.

What graphics card have you got? Are the drivers up to date for it?

i'm running SLI'd 7900GS cards.

And i upgraded the drivers a couple of weeks ago.

ok, update - it only happens when IE is open, not firefox.

Also, it seems to happen when outlook 2007 is open, reading messages.

I should be able to use ff and get round it.
