Monitor for conservatory?

I am after a new monitor as I have moved my PC into the conservatory and on bright days I cannot see it. Would having a higher contrast ratio make it more visible or maybe one with a glossy screen? Anyone else use a monitor in their conservatory?

I think some cheap blinds to cover the offending area may be cheaper than a new screen. That or just go on the pc at night!

hmmm... I've read my monitor manual and It clearly states not to place your monitor behind or infront of sunlight... and this applies to all monitors. I think you should make some sort of hood for all sides for your monitor if you're that desperate.

You never want a glossy screen in a sunny area.

Yea that's what I thought but the glare is more an all over thing rather than a direct reflection so I thought it might be better as I have never had a glossy monitor.

I have blinds but they don't keep out the evening sun enough, I can see to browse the web but not to play COD4.

It's not in direct sunlight but I get enough glare that I cannot see well enough in games.

Thanks all, guess I will just have to live with it.

I remember having this sort of problem before with my 17'' LCD monitor.. The only solution to the problem I found that was to relocate where my PC was (It was beside a window) :p
