At the moment I've got a Dell 2405fpw which has served me well for the last 8+ years but I've always been frustrated with the ghosting, so with all the recent talk of G-Sync I'm wondering about upgrading, but I'm lost what to...
My pc has a single GTX770, so I would have thought it's an ideal choice for g-sync (fluctuating fps) so I've been following the topic about the ROG Swift for a while, but I'm scratching my head about the lack of input ports. Yes, I understand why they've done it, but surely gamers/users in the market for a top-spec gaming monitor will probably also have other gaming devices in their nerd-cave? At present I have my pc connected via DVI and my 360 via D-sub (and I've even used the s-video and component ports in the past). So, if I was to change to a single displayport monitor, are there (affordable) adapters and switches/hubs to manage multiple inputs?
Thinking of other options... The Dell is a 24" 1920x1200 - so I kinda feel like dropping to 1080 is a step backwards, in resolution and ppi (even though I know the image quality and refresh rates will probably be massively better). I can't imagine I've got the pc power for 4k, so I can't see their value if I'm rarely able to use the monitor at its native res (had a quick look at the Samsung U28D590).
So, what do you think? Am I after the moon on a stick? I've used my Dell for years now, so I'm not in a rush to swap so I'm ok to wait in hope for the ROG to drop in price a little, or to look at other options.
