I have been waiting for apple to bring out a new Monitor but dont think i can wait anymore

I been looking at the Dell 24 inch that on offer this week the ultra sharp one is that any good?

Cheers

We do have a monitors section, you know :p

My 2407 is great, so I'd expect much of the same from the 2408.

If youre going for a 24" Dell dont get the HC version, pretty sure the non-HC has a lot better colours and vibrancy. Love my 2407 and certainly wouldnt change it for a 23" ACD

Have you seen an ACD next to your Dell, or is that an assumption?

The HC (later model, improved specs over the 2407) was too vibrant for me, after hours of calibration, colours were way too saturated, good for media, not for proper work.
The plastic bezel looks awful and cheap, no getting around that.

The ACD colours are perfect, pretty much out of the box, and it has uniformed brightness across the panel. Looks great and it will hold it's value.

I'm not sure if I would pay £599 though, I was able to get 35% off the RRP which made it a no brainer. Try picking one up second hand if your concerned about the refresh (which I don't think will happen for ages).

35% off, fair enough on going for the ACD but if its £400 vs £600 then I know Id definitely be going for the Dell.
The colours may need calibrating but most of the time all monitors need some sort of calibration, all of mine have needed some sort of calibration. The HC spec 2407 like I said does nto reproduce colours correctly whereas the non HC version that I currently own definitely looks a lot better for colour/brightness/contrast than my previous LCD's.
Have you looked at the Samsung 24" monitors? I remember my university had them and they looked fantastic but I cant remember what model!
