Monitor for my new rig

I've been out of the loop for quite a while with regards to anything computer related. I'm struggling on choosing a decent monitor.

I'd like to spend around £200, I can be convinced to go to about £250 only if it's really worth it. I'll probably be gaming 50% of the time, so I'd like the colour + contrast to be decent.

Viewing angles don't bother me much as there's 40" Bravia in my bedroom which I use for movies and PS3.

Firstly - fantastic rig! Secondly, I think unless you spend £260+ on a monitor you will gain nothing more than you would from spending around £150-£170 at the moment. To that end I would heartily recommend the B2430L. There are some excellent links related to this monitor on this thread. Basically the image quality and build quality is unsurpassed by anything short of an IPS panel (you're looking at at least double the price for a 24 inch IPS panel) yet it can be had for £150 at the moment.

The B2430L has slightly superior colour accuracy under the default settings (not that this matters much on a TN panel) and slightly smoother colour gradients with slightly better whites. Overall you'd be hard pushed to notice any real difference in image quality between the two - I'd really go for the one you prefer the look of. A happy user who recently purchased the P2450H can give you more of an insight - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=17608801&postcount=29
