Hi,

My son will be getting a gaming PC and PS5 for Christmas and rather than having two separate screens I was wondering if there are any monitors which would support both systems?
Ideally a screen size of 27"+, supporting a PC res of 1440p and PS5 with HDMI 2.1

Thanks :)

I’ve done some research and it appears some LG TV’s can cover both of my requirements. They support NVIDIA G-Sync, VRR up to 120hz and HDMI 2.1

Don't think any of LG small TV's (around 32") support this

Surely that would only be there much larger flag ship TV's which start from around 48"
Correct - only the LG OLED CX has these features and the smallest size is currently 48”. There is still time before I need to buy and there are some new monitors on the horizon which are looking interesting.

It amazes me that the monitor market is so behind.

I'm toying with the idea of getting a 3090. Dont get me wrong if I could get a nice 32" hdr10, 144hz 4k screen. For a reasonable price I'd be all over it.

I'm faced with the prospect of getting something like the asus 43" that's just too big for gaming 2 feet from the screen. A 4k hdmi 2.1 tv, that again is too big, or spending an obscene about of cash on a 27" screen, that is too small for my liking.

Why haven't we got more monitors on the market yet? And why is the tv market so far ahead.

Any eta on a 28-44" 4k 120+ hz screen?
I’m surprised too - next gen consoles have been roadmapped for years and yet there are no displays available below 48/49 inch which support the new features. Doesn’t look like it’s going to change for a while either :(
The current offerings are great for lounges and large rooms but surely the largest user base of consoles are the 5-25 year olds, in bedrooms/smaller rooms using them on desk type environments.

In terms of monitors - Hopefully now NVIDIA have cards out soon supporting HDMI 2.1 monitor companies will get their products updated.
