Monitor for Photo Editing

Coming from a 17" good quality CRT which is now on its way out. I am looking for a 22"-24" Monitor around £500 top. Primarily for photo editing and general web browsing (no gaming). Anyone got any suggestions?. I have been looking at the Dell 2407 -HC but cannot see many reviews where it has been used for photo editing.

Eizo are very good at screens for photoediting and professionals. Problem is they come with professional prices.

Don't know how the Dell comes out in VFM terms, but it wan't the long ago a 24" Dell was £800. I.e prices are always dropping..

I use an apple 23" monitor for photoshop work, it's not bad at all, I calibrate it once a week with a spyder though....a couple of the others at work have the 20" and that's ok too.

The Dell 2407 -HC seems to have disappeared from the Dell UK site altogether, any one know whats going on.

i did some in depth analysis of the colour reproduction qualities of the 2407WFP-HC here which should hopefully help
