Probably been asked many a time - but also as new devices are released so often, the answer might change.
Friend of mine at work uses his PS5 a lot. Bonus time at work, so doesn't want to scrimp on his purchase. Currently has an older 32" ASUS ROG (as if that actually matters - I've been so out of the performance monitor game for a long time).
He'd like:

30"+
4k
HDMI 2.1

As mentioned above, he does spend a lot of time on his PS5 so doesn't want to buy cheap. He'd rather spend that little more on something that would be considered "best of show" etc.

Cheers for anything I can relay to him.

Thank you for that reply - those sound like complete beasts!
I'm going to forward that information over to him now - he hasn't currently mentioned a budget, I really should start asking people that if they want my advice (not that I can provide any on this subject).
If the budget was more towards the £500 - £800 area, which direction should he be looking in?

So in that budget I'd look at HDMI 2.0 monitors too, just because there is not a lot of availability and not really anything on PS5 that can run 4K 120fps unless you drop the resolution to 1080p which kind of eliminates the point of a 4K monitor.

LG 27GN950 (HDMI 2.0) or LG 27GP950 (HDMI 2.1) are a good shout with HDR 600 if you can find any in stock.

I got an Eve Spectrum 27" 4K 144hz with HDMI 2.1 and ended up keeping my old 27GN950 instead for the reason above. (and the Eve firmware was a bit buggy for my liking, other than that it was alright)

For use with PS5 you have to be carefull.
Even before HDMI 2.1 turning to scam officially not all monitors advertising HDMI 2.1 actually supported full bandwidth of the spec.
For example Gigabyte's 4K monitors support only half of HDMI 2.1's max bitrate and rely on DSC to cover that.
But PS5 doesn't support DSC, whose support might be far away considering Sony hasn't even added support for 2560x1440.

As for those Samsungs their curvature is extreme and if any work etc is done on it likely very bad for that because of geometric distortion.

Check if 48” is too big, it not grab an LG C1 48”. Those are about £999. Also added bonus of being a great TV.
