another what monitor thread I’m afraid....

But this is for a work laptop, as I’m increasingly using it at home I need a better and bigger screen.

Desktop space is limited so I will be wall mounted.

Laptop is a Dell latitude thing - intel m5 1.5ghz with 8gb ram and intel 515 graphics

I was originally looking at 28” 4K monitors but realised that realised that might be out of the work laptops depth!

Any advice appreciated

When I'm working from home I hook my Dell 7000 series up to my personal monitor via display port which is a 27" IPS 2560x1440 and runs just fun at 60hz. My monitor is nothing special it's one of those cheap Korean brands that were doing the rounds a few years ago but it compliments my laptop perfectly and allows me to have a dual screen setup at home.

You can still get these I believe but before buying check they have the inputs that are compatible with your laptop and if you want to wall mount it has a VESA mount (I paid a bit extra for mine for a pixel perfect screen, VESA and a full range of inputs all of which was £50 the the cheapest version).

I can't say for sure but 4k might work at 30hz if you can run it from display port but scrolling around will look terrible.

I'm using a Dell U2417H for my work monitor at the moment, 24" and 1080p. The very small bezels means it will fit in a small space very easily and it has a decent set of inputs plus USB3 hub. A sound bar / speaker type thing is also available that fixes to the bottom of the monitor. The U2417HA version comes with an arm instead of the desktop stand.

no display port but with a USB-c hub adaptor it will manage 3840x2160 @ 60hz according to dell - although I really cant see it managing t stream a 4k youtube video smoothly

I would probably also use it for a macbook pro which will do 4k with ease

This will never be used for gaming.
Work, you tube, films, general browing

.....with that said contenders are....

1) BenQ Gc2870H 28" https://www.overclockers.co.uk/benq...z-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-127-bq.html
cheap and possibly all I need

2) LG 29WK600-W 29" https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lg-2...-gaming-widescreen-led-monitor-mo-14r-lg.html
fill the wall space nicely and looks useful for multitasking office work

3) Samsung U28e590d 4k 28" https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sams...g-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-214-sa.html
most expensive, looks to be the best of the bunch, but possibly overkill for my needs

anyone opinions??
