Monitor for Xbox 360.

Yep, decent monitor, seems a fair price.

A set of speakers plugged into the headphone jack should do the trick yeah.

Great stuff - Will there be any performance issues with using an Xbox 360 on a PC Monitor? i.e problems with Vsync/any stuttering?

Cheers

Nope you shouldn't have any problems. Hdtv's have the same refresh rate as that monitor - 60hz.

You'll have no problems with tearing because the Xbox won't output higher than 60fps anyway.

Some console games screen tear anyway though, which I didn't quite understand.

EDIT : Although at OP's budget I'd be looking at an IPS Panel.

For Xbox only? Get a VH242H. Very fast response time and low input lag. Used and recommended by people in the fighting game tournament scene. It's also cheaper than the one you mentioned and has built in speakers.

The downsides are the speakers aren't super loud and the OSD is awful. It looks OK with a Sky TV feed hooked up although I have seen better.

You won't find a suitable 27" IPS model for quite that price and it's a matter of opinion whether the colour consistency of the IPS or the contrast of the VA will be more appealing.

Edit: You mentioned that you were after a 27" specifically over on my forum but not here. Might but worth specifying that in the OP :).

The answer is generally no if you want fast response times and low input lag.

The only reservation I have is that for console gaming 24" is a bit small if you're sitting back on your couch.

If you wan't IPS you can get the LG E27EA33V 27" for around £200 which is also a great screen.

More decisions... :D I would get the Benq.

Hey Tom_D
I asked the same question beginning of January and after a lot of researching and asking questions have gone for the same Benq. Though I'll have to wait until feb as its a birthday present !!.
There are other threads discussing this monitor for xbox gaming which helped me decide.
Was told VA panel is better suited than IPS, plus the Benq should pickup the xbox automatically.
Connect xbox with HMDI, have settings set to RGB and select expanded.
Just what I found out so hope it helps.

This is great, thanks! I'm pretty sure I will go for the Benq, may even order it tonight. :)

I've set the Xbox 360 to expanded and RBG and followed the recommend tweak settings from the PCM forum. Looks good!

Hey Tom_D excellent, looking forward to getting my monitor, what recommended tweak did you find ? Can you give me a link please.

The only thing that's put a real downer on the monitor is the amount of trailing/bluring I've noticed when playing Fifa 13. When the camera pans across the screen, there is a sort of blur/ghosting effect across the players and I find it distracting.

Is there anyway to stop this from happening as much? :/
