Hi,
I am seeking a monitor approx 22/23" with built in freeview and full HD to use with my laptop and as a TV. I have found a couple of candidates with the LG M237WD (23") and the LG M227WD (22") . However reviews suggest the sound is poor?

Can anyone suggest an alternative or do you thbink for the price they are a decent bet? Picture reviews sound v.good, just concerns with sound quality.

Many Thanks
Phil

Was looking at about £200 as upper limit (or very close) :D

Found Samsung 2370 (23") /2270 (22") also as possibles. But not too clued up on difference to LG. Think LG may have USB where Samsung does not.

Thanks
Phil

I should mention I would like to view HDTV, I was assuming HD capable screen would mean the freeview HD channel would display in HD but a lot don't describe the tuner as HD tuner.

So not sure now if can have HD tv (for e.g. HD DVD viewing) that only receives freeview in non-HD ??? Or am I being stupid and any HDTV's with a tuner receive HD freeview as 'HD' :D

Thanks for the replies guys.

I think I'm probably going to plump for the Samsung P2370D. Without external speakers found it better than the LG M237WD.

Did see online the Samsung LD220HD but size aside not sure if there is much difference or even if its available in the UK.

Andy is correct. There are no Freeview HD tuners built into computer monitors at the moment.

Have you looked at Samsung's new lapfit range? They are designed to be used as a TV and as an extra screen on a laptop - which seemed to be what you were after. You can find out a bit more about them on my website and I'm hoping to review them shortly. Unfortunately there is no Freeview HD tuner built in, though.

Am I being dumb or does this have HDTV receiver built in? P2370HD-1

Edit: Don't tell me it's US only!
