Has anyone done this? ie bought a Monitor and had it shipped over from the US? It seems worth it if the monitor comes over in good condition. (Obviously after the duty/VAT).

Monitor pricing seems to have dropped significantly of recent, as have failures. As someone who has imported goods in the past I can only recommend you by in the UK, it just isn't worth the hassle should anything go wrong for a marginal saving.

I agree with this.

Unless you stand to make a massive saving it's just not worth the hassle. The shipping cost will be huge because of the volumetric weight of the box, the risk of damage in shipping (which is bad enough with domestic deliveries), no warranty, etc all make it a pain. Plus you're almost guaranteed to have to pay full UK duty & VAT as it will be something that is easy to value, and not difficult to spot!

Good points, I'll probably avoid that method then, seems I need to just sit it out and wait for one to come on sale on these forums.
