Hello, I have this problem where my monitor has gone blank and back on repeatedly. Or sometimes it goes off for 5 seconds and comes back on again and usually displays a few yellow specs on my monitor.

Not sure if this is my monitor playing up or my graphics card. (Dont have another monitor/gfx card to test)

Edit: Ive also just experienced pink/blue/yellow lines come across my screen, blinking repeatedly then it stops after 5-10 seconds.

GFX Card : Asus 7950

basically you want to troubleshoot to see if this is a hardware of software problem, do you have a laptop that you can try connecting to the monitor as secondary display to see if its your video card?

otherwise just the regular stuff first:

re-installing or updating video card drivers
checking to see that your video cards fan is spinning
try and get a temp reading of your gfx card to see if its running too hot
reseating of the video card into your mobo
checking your cables from the monitor to your tower
try using the 2nd terminal on your gfx card for your monitor if it has it
cleaning any dust from your gfx card

Its a Samsung SyncMaster 2333

Ive re-seated the GPU, and re-plugged the cables. GFX card is running at 28degrees.

I haven't noticed the problem occur now, but will see later during the course.

other questions to ask would be, have you overclocked the gfx card at all? and does the problems happen during gpu intensive activities like running a game, or are u just idle at desktop when it happens?

It happens on both games and desktop, Its stopped doing it at the moment, the gpu re-seat might have done the trick as I recently took it out to install a sound-card.

The GFX card is at default clock, and I have not had the problem occur at the moment, but I do have a TV/HDMI I can hook up to test it further if it occurs.
