Monitor going into power save mode just as OS loads!?

Grr this problem has occured in the past and I can't remember what the solution was.

Basically my monitor has all of a sudden started going into power saving mode on boot up. That's not to say that its not showing a picture. Bois info etc displays fine and the little green (Vista) loading bar shows up. However just as the OS is supposed to display, the monitor switches mode!

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? It couldn't have come at a worse time as I need my pc working this weekend.

Help!

sounds like its a driver thing then if its working initially then goes off as windows loads, you could try booting into safe mode and roll back your drivers if you recently updated them, or download latest if you havent

That sounds spot on 95thrifles.

I've been using the basic windows drivers but recently downloaded nvidias latest set.

It does boot into safe mode fine so I'll be giving that a go tonight. Thanks!

Any more thoughts in case that doesn't solve it? Obviously I'm typing this from my work pc..
