Not sure what to make of this one, I want to blame the graphics card - but haven't seen it happen in other games, and I can torture it to 95c on Furmark extreme without a hiccup.

Haven't changed any hardware or drivers in several weeks, anyone seen similar behaviour?
 
My 8800 GTS was doing this in Mass Effect 2, found that the regulator that controlled fan speed wasn't working and the card was overheating while the fan ran at 600rpm. Once I used a tool to increase the fan speed it's been rock solid again.
 
Pretty sure the fan is ramping up quick, it's easily the noisiest thing in the case at full whack.

I played about 90 mins last night at lower clocks and got through ok - naff solution but I've got to start eliminating somewhere :s
