Having trawled through a number of pages on the forum reading many threads i thought Id make a post..
My current set up is a Benq 27" GW2765 1440 IPS panel with another 27" Benq 1080p panel to the side, this set up is driven by a 980ti supported by an 6700k i7
After doing some overtime and the Mrs allowing me to spend some of my hard earned bonus.. I'm looking at upgrades.
I was initially stuck on the Ultrawide 34/35" and narrowed it down to a few models however after reading people say I should really have a better GPU to power it.. which now has me looking at either the 1080Ti or the 2080.
I do game however as i now have a newborn I'm more of a casual gamer these days, which is probably why Id prefer to have an IPS panel. I also have HTC Vive and play DCS along with project cars
My question is... if I go for the 4k (Acer XB321HK).. will either of the 1080ti or 2080 be able to drive it to a 4k resolution with high settings or would I be disappointed as i would need to reduce some settings.. in which case should i stick with ultrawide 1440p. Acer (X34P)
I hope this makes sense... this will likely be the last upgrade I do for a few years so I'd like to try future proof it
