Monitor/gpu issue

Hiya guys,
Recently i decided to use my 32 HDTV as my main screen which is wall mounted and have a 22" monitor as a second screen just off to the side.

Only i've decided to not use the second screen anymore and just use the HDTV.

So i disconnected the monitor and powered on the system with the HDTV...only it wouldn't display anything :(

The system appears to boot fine, but i don't think it's getting to the desktop, reason i think that being is that my afterburner profile isn't kicking in as i can't hear the gpu fan changing, just remains at 20%.

Anyone come across this before?

If i connect the monitor the system boots fine
HDTV is connected via HDMI cable, monitor by DVI cable.

Any help would be great.

Thanks guys.

Cheers Shankly, i've had a quick look and my main monitor is set to the HDTV via HDMI, going to install the latest 14.4 drivers and see what happens.
I'll report back.

no bloody luck:mad:

Tried what Darket suggested, but the second i unplug the monitor, the system fails to boot to windows.
Get a code on the Motherboards LED (62), going to have a dig around and see what i can find.

It's so strange, i've disabled the monitor, uninstalled the drivers for it but still the issue remains.

Hiya Biuro,

Just gave what you said a go, i'm using Windows 8.1 so when i pressed the shortcut key the options that came up were a little different.

Pc screen only

Duplicate

Extend

Second screen only

I assumed that i should be selecting PC screen only, did that and the monitor knocked off and only the HDTV is showing now.

Where do we go from here?

When you boot the PC with only the TV attached, do you see the BIOS splash screen? Does it only fail when it goes into Windows?

Hi Quartz, yes pal, i can see the bios screen sometimes, then after that nothing.

Yes, it was "PC screen only" option. I use different language on my OS.

So now - enable monitor again, right click (RMB = right mouse button) on desktop, pick change resolution, point at TV-display, enable "make this display as main/primary" option, use Windows and P again, choose "PC screen only" - it will disable monitor and should've preserved HDMI TV as main screen. So turn Windows off, unplug monitor cable, turn PC on and you should see your desktop.

If that works, or not - please tell me how is enumerated your TV all the time (I mean during dual setup, and single setup: always as number #1) ?

Thanks for all the help so far Biuro, i'll give this a shot now.

Yeah Quartz i get exactly the same thing, even though the Monitor is disabled, i get the bios on that on start up, then it switches to the HDTV when windows loads.

Really bloody annoying me, to the point of me contemplating just buying a bigger monitor instead of using the TV.
