Monitor/graphic card upgrade

Hi all hope you are all well. I would appreciate some help in regards to replacing my Asus 23.5 monitor its HD 60hz and about 10 years old. Here is my current build:

Ryzen 3700x 3.6ghz
Geforce 1660ti 6gb
16gb ddr4 4000mhz
corsair rm850 psu

I want to upgrade to a better monitor at around 27" but I just cant decide even after I research. I play games mostly on pc, first person shooters and strategy games. I have considered:

buying a 2070 and a monitor then around £300 mark.

Or I can buy a 27" HD monitor and keep my 1660ti, but not sure about performance.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you want a 1080p monitor or 1440p , higher refresh rates ?

Hi thanks for reply, I think something with higher refresh rates. My current monitor tears a lot on games.

Personally i would go for a 1440p monitor 144hz you can always drop the resolution down to 1080p 144Hz but it would give the option when you upgrade your gpu.

This monitor is curved has g-sync and freesync which ever gpu you choose in the future
