Hi all,
Need some help figuring out what bit of my system is going wrong.
My monitor started to not find a signal when I turned my PC on a few days ago. I tried re-inserting the cable umpteen times, turning it and the PC on and off and so on. Then connected it to our laptop to see if it worked and the monitor was fine connected to the laptop. When I hooked it back up to the PC it started to work again and I had no trouble for 2 days.
This morning it's not getting a signal again. I've tried every wiggle I can on the cable, opened the case to check the graphics card was ok, but no luck. When I connect another monitor to this PC I'm having the same problem. I suspect the motherboard or graphics card but would like some advice before we start disecting said PC
So what do I do from here?
My system is a home built one, specs from memory are:
Mobo - Asus K8NE deluxe
3000 athalon 64 proc
Graphics - XFX Nvidia GeForce 5700 LE
Monitor - Acer AL1716
OS is Mandriva Spring 2008 but I've also got Win XP on there. Not that the system gets far enough to notice
Thanks in advance,
Wenchy
