I use my monitor for both my comptuer and 360 and after just having a session on my xbox switched back to my PC and the monitor now has a blueish tint to it?

I had a look at http://homepage.eircom.net/~bot/paint/monitor.htm and both the too light and too dark steps are merged at either end. Just wondered if the cable or something has become damaged rather than the monitor itself. Have faffed about with the cable and contrast settings too.

Monitor is a samsung 913n and graphics card a 7800GT.

More likely to be the colour temperature than brightness or contrast, try altering the temp from the controls on the monitor itself. :)

Just had a play around with the colour tones (RGB - they were all set at 50 but presumed its always been like that) and seems a bit better.

Any other ideas, or a good setup to have rgb on?

Is there not a set of controls for temperature? Something like 5500 - 6500 - 9500 these are the ones I mean as they can make the screen look whiter or more blue or warm/cold. :)

Nope, the only thing remotely similar is colour tone which is cool, normal, warm or custom. I have it on custom but it doesn't give you any options to edit it.

It's either the same or worse :\

I tried out a different monitor lead and had the same problem, have updated my graphics drivers so it can't be that. Convinced it is something to do with the settings but can't find out what.

It is your Xbox that is causing the problem. I had my Elite plugged into a seperate HDMI switchbox recently and eventually the swithbox input failed to work. Now that input is dead. The Xbox 360 still goes on though, but the problem is that the output on the Xbox 360 can be very strong and can cause various display problems. As you know MS is always slow at admitting anything. Look at XBL over Xmas. The Wireless Steering wheel retrofit that has taken a good year to sort out. Need I go on......
