I have a Viewsonic VA2010wb, I've had it for years, when I first bought it I used the VGA input because that's the only output I had at the time, it wasn't long until I had a DVI capable graphics card and have been using DVI ever since.

Recently I was given an Acer Revo R3610, I don't have space for 2 monitors so was going to use the VGA for the Acer and the DVI with my main PC, just for setting it up, it's going to live with the TV once I've got it how I want it but it's not really a priority.

There's a button on the monitor to switch between VGA and DVI, so I could have them both on at the same time and switch between them at the press of a button, but when I use VGA the screen has a green tint, it's not the Acer, it works perfectly with the monitor that came with it.

I tried it with the DVI unplugged and it's still the same, I've tried resetting the monitors settings and tried changing the settings and nothing helps.

Sometimes the green tint will flicker and you see normal colours, if it's been on for a long time it sometimes displays correctly.

What could it be? I'll be getting a new monitor at some point, probably this year, but I still want to get to the bottom of this!

Tried another VGA cable and its still the same, possibly a bad solder joint in the monitor, if I get around to it I'll open it up and have a look.

Yeah, only 1 VGA and 1 DVI. If it had 2 DVI ports I have a HDMI>DVI cable I could use.

I went to open it up but there's no screws and a reasonable amount of force didn't open the case so I decided to leave the innards be for now, I don't want to end up breaking my monitor, at least until I have a shiny new one to replace it, even then I'd rather it didn't break, I could finally get my dad off the VGA monitor and DVI-VGA adaptor he's using since I donated my last PC innards to him!
