Hi all,
Recently I broke the HDMI port on my second monitor which I am 99% sure is beyond saving. When i plug it in through there the PC detects the monitor but the monitor stays black. I’ve tried plugging it through VGA to my Motherboard but I am not sure how to turn on the motherboards output through the bios.
Where can I find the setting for this. I have an MSI B550M wifi mobo.
Thanks

Are both HDMI and VGA from the same source, iGPU or GPU in the PCIE slot?

The BIOS may be set to use one or the other and not auto.

Have you tried powering on the PC after the VGA cable in connected? It may not auto switch after power on.

My main monitor is plugged into the GPU but the GPU doesn’t have a VGA port so I have to plug the second monitor into my motherboard through VGA. I have tried powering on after. Does my MSI bios allow to use both motherboard and GPU? I have also tried plugging my main monitor into the motherboard through HDMI, where it also doesn’t get an output. So the motherboard does not give an output even if nothing is plugged into the GPU.

Whenever I plug the VGA into my monitor and motherboard, the monitor turns on automatically, yet it still says VGA no signal. The monitor detects the PC but is getting no output. Is it worth buying a VGA to hdmi adaptor to plug into the GPU, do they work or does the monitors response time become slow?
