monitor hdmi question

hi all.
just got a benq XL2411T monitor got a hdmi cable too.edited my original post.so question is a HDMI cable is all u should need to connect this monitor right? when i tried this i got a no signal on monitor.so using dvi dual link cable(big white one)
on a side note is there any quality difference DVI-dual link VS HDMI?

No quality difference (though occasionally with HDMI you need to adjust overscan settings or it'll be blurry, some monitors mistake some computers for TV sources - rare on new monitors though.)
