hi guys,

Im now wanting a new monitor and cant decide,

Im torn between the Asus ROG swift (had one already but the build quality for terrible) might give it another chance or the LG Flatron 34UM95-P 34" WideScreen

I mainly play BF4 and planetside 2

Different beasts, but the LG will give far better immersion with the 21:9 ratio. You may want to consider the 34UC97 though, which is the curved version. At this size, curved is way to go as the flat screens can 'appear' to be going away from you in the corners given their width. Ultimately it probably comes down to how important the refresh rate is to you vs colour reproduction and general productivity, given the wider aspect of the LG and being IPS (better colours and viewing angles) but 60Hz max refresh rate, vs the ROG which is a TN (not so great viewing angles, colours more washed out) but is 144Hz so very smooth for gameplay... plus it has G-Sync and 3D if you care about such things (which the LG doesn't). The LG is is the only curved screen available at the moment, and even it isn't actually available yet (soon though)... but there is a Dell on the way, plus a Samsung and most likely an AOC next year.

Thanks legend to be honest I'm swaying towards the LG as I think I'm happier with nice colour reproduction than 3d etc

Would definitely be my choice, the curved that is. G-Sync is a bit of a gimmick IMHO, and although 3D can be nice (for some), it is somewhat of a novelty... and when Oculus comes out, it will fade in to obscurity overnight.

The curved is an option but I'm needing a new monitor for Friday plus it's one hell of a price mind you £769 for the LG is not cheap

No, but the ROG isn't MUCH cheaper at £666. I think the wow factor of the LG is definitely worth the extra £100. Actually the LG is on offer this week at £740.
