monitor help

i am going to buy a new monitor , i play a lot of fps games as well as most generall thing on comp. (cant give spec of comp as have not built it yet)

i am going to have a nvida 8800gt or 9600 ( but may go sli on either)

what is the best monitor , would like a wide screen 19+ inches.

budget upto £300

Whilst PCDave is correct, the version he has is an excellent monitor as on the Dell 2007wfp it had either an IPS or PVA panel IIRC but the new one in his link is a TN panel. Not saying thats a problem but there are differences, especially depending on an individuals needs.

If gaming is an important part of your usage then I would recommend a TN panel, and if you get something like the 8800GT or the new ATI 4850 or 4870's then look at getting a 22" widescreen, I recently bought the Samsung T220 22" http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-084-SA and its superb, 2ms response time, great colours and games look fantastic Use the savings from your £300 budget to upgrade the graphics card
