So many things going on I have just lost the plot, confusing and contradicting
info has lead me to almost chuck the towel in.
So, like many people I have had a bucket load of monitors over the years and
when looking for a new one it was simple, check out a few reviews, weed out what wasn't important to me and what was, purchase, plug in and enjoy..
simple.
this week I decide I want a change, I have 2x27 inch monitors, 2 pcs, an apen
kvn, I am a bit miffed with the setup so I decided I would try a 34" widescreen
one.
now the fun begins, well it did and then it became a nightmare, I am using dvi for the monitors and all of a sudden I see most don't even include one, bummer. never mind, I can use hdmi right, only if I want 30 hz and then I see
hdmi is changing to 2.0, ok it has a display port, but just the one and that's the other pc out and the kvm in the bin then.
so to give me a nudge in the right direction can someone try to answer me a few questions please, before you do here is a little info on what I am doing right now.
2 x pc's. one I use for games only and the other is what we as a family use for
anything we need to do, 2 port dvi/usb kvm makes it all a little easier and really is needed.
monitor I am looking at has dvi,vga,hdmi @30Hz and displayport at 60hz. (3440x1440)

1. will the display run @60hz in a lower res on any of the other ports
2. can you get an adapter to make dvi into displayport.
3. only 1 pc has a displayport, should I get another gfx card and
choose another monitor.
4. is my only option to get another gfx card, monitor and kvm.
gaming pc is a i7 4790k devils canyon 16gb ram and gtx970oc with display port.
other pc is i7 3770k 16gb ram and an older gtx 570, I really don't want
to add a newer card as its wasted in this pc.
seems like dvi is becoming a dead dog that I am still trying to flog.
