Only comes with a VGA cable, it has a HDMI and DVI-D port though

Should I get a HDMI cable? I read around and hear VGA is slightly blurry as it converts from analogue

Also I read somewhere using HDMI limits what you can see on your screen? Like games?

Do you plug the hdmi cable into the mobo or graphics card?

Should I be using HDMI if I'm going to fork out £200 for a monitor?

What is the make/model of the monitor you are looking to get?

Theoretically, the picture quality from a digital signal (like HDMI or DVI) should be sharper than an analogue one passed via a VGA cable. However, in reality the quality difference is very difficult to determine - even side-by-side, so I wouldn't get too hung up about it.

As for which to use - what connections does you graphics card/motherboard IGP have?

If you have a graphics card then you should be plugging the monitor cable into that, not the motherboard.

HDMI and DVI are essentially the same digital signal, the only difference being HDMI can carry an audio signal. Both are obviously better than an analogue VGA connection.

Not quite sure what you're talking about in reference to HDMI limits?? I think someone is having you on tbh :p

The HDMI and DVI cables (you only need one) connect from your video card to the monitor.

Your best bet is to use a DVI cable to connect your pc to the monitor, as I'm presuming you have seperate speakers anyway?

well its for my first build so i was just a little unsure

its the samsung P2450H, and I'll be getting a 5000 series gfx card and a 1366 mobo

what kind of cable should I need then? I hear there are lots of weird ones like HDMI to DVI and shiz and it's all complicated
